Dr. Joe Frost

Dr. Frost’s veterinary experience started far before graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. His father before him and brother after him both chose the same path. From a young age he was surrounded by dogs and cats, working with animals on a daily basis in the family veterinary clinic. This early, constant exposure to animal behavior has grown into his intuitive connection with them. He practiced in Wisconsin in 1993 and 1994 and then in Belvidere from 1994 thru 2008.

Since founding Frost Family Pet Clinic in 2008, Dr. Frost has furthered his efforts to provide fear-free and comfortable visits for all of his patients. His understanding of the special bond between pets and their guardians help him tailor diagnostic and treatment plans to each pet and family. Dr. Frost understands that you and your pet are special and unique, and your pet’s care should also be special and unique. He feels grateful to be able to lead a team of like-minded professionals with the goal of optimal treatment of each patient and family.

In addition to new pet care, other areas of special interest include dentistry, ultrasound, and internal medicine. On a daily basis, Dr. Frost is humbled by modern medicine miracles as well as the incredible healing power of nature. This respect for both science and nature shows in his “whole-pet” approach to veterinary care.

Dr. Frost is member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Dental Society, the Illinois Veterinary Medical Association, and the Greater Rockford Area Veterinary Medical Association. He is a member of the Animal Emergency Clinic of Rockford. He has served as President of the Greater Rockford Area Veterinary Medical Association and the Animal Emergency Clinic.

Dr. Frost lives in Rockford with his wife and their two dogs and one sneaky black alley cat. They spend time with their pets and family and enjoy bicycling and skiing.
